I forgot to say to you
words beyond a scene of the truth
I forgot to mention it was
never meant for hurting you
I forgot what I went through
these tears you cried, I cried them too
I forgot the way you made me smile

it wasn't all bad
and with a little more good
I can say I forgive you
although the chance I had to give is gone
you're not a bad girl
you're just a bit off-base
from the way the world has seen your face
I understand the pain, these are the words that I forgot to say

I forgot to say to you
your eyes are orbs of sapphire grace
embodied in a breath of untame twilight in your face
I couldn't tell you
I didn't think you'd want me to
but I forgot to ask you if it's okay

it wasn't all bad
and with a little more good
I can say I forgive you
although the chance I had to give is gone
you're not a bad girl
you're just a bit afraid
the way the world has seen your face
I understand the pain, these are the words that I forgot to say

if trust is an issue with us
then i say it should be buried under mountains of dust
to move on and stand strong
cuz time is a lesson of will
armed with a patience for the power to kill
but I won't let it kill my patience with you
the real you, and your fears, you'll improve if you embrace the truth
and don't hide those tears

it wasn't all bad
and with a little more good
I can say I forgive you
although the chance I had to give is gone
you're not a bad girl
you're just a bit afraid
the way the world will judge your face
again when a new day comes along

it wasn't all bad
and with a little more good
I know you'll find a better place
because the life you've had to live is gone
you're not a bad girl
but you have never touched base
before with the truth that you now taste
I understand your pain, these are the words that I forgot to say

find your place
