you were like the sun to me
my warmth against the chilling breeze on me
but now you are the wind spinning in circles
over me, through me

an ice cube
in my broken shattered dreams
freezing every thought
that i think

green october
i'll move on when you're gone
to start over
when it's green once again
until then i remain
where i freeze

now the leaves are falling around me
from the trees that are calling upon me
to speak the words they say
as they all wither away

losing touch
felt so bittersweet
wasting time and losing
all our dreams

green october
i'll move on when you're gone
to start over
when it's green once again
i'll meet you in
the next autumn breeze
and go numb
with the first winter's freeze

i wish the wind that blew today
cared enough to blow away
the frustrated feelings that
contradict themselves
so the frost melted today
and the wind blew it away
and forgot to take the
confusion from my brain

you were like the sun to me
but now you're only a memory of nothing
memories are dear
but yours will disappear

as the sun's
casting shadows at my feet
things no longer seem
quite so green

green october
once you're gone i can move on
fresh start over
where it's green and so grand
i'll meet you in
the next autumn breeze
and forget
you in the last
winter's freeze
